Senior Epee (ages 13+; Hadley)

This program develops a fencer's overall fencing skills with an eye toward competition. This mixed-skill-level class is flexible enough to cater to the relatively inexperienced to the seasoned competitors. Classes will be structured so that students do a lot of peer-to-peer training and learning, all under the guidance of coaches. Each week we will explore a different theme in fencing (tactic, technique, set of drills, way of thinking about the sport, competitive situation, etc.).

Students may attend up to three class meetings weekly. Students are encouraged to join in open fencing sessions, also.

The Tuesday class overlaps with the footwork and conditioning class.

Prerequisites:

  • Completion of the Senior Beginner Epee curriculum OR Youth Epee curriculum
  • Coach approval
  • Riverside Fencing Club membership

Class fees:

  • "Recreational" level (once weekly): $200.00 per session
  • "Competitive" level (more than once weekly): $320.00 per session
    • Includes one free private lesson per session during a "Reserved" lesson slot. (See "Lessons" below.)

NB: There will be no classes on the third Wednesday of each calendar month due to events held by our hosts, the American Legion post 271.

Other Classes

All-Ages Footwork & Conditioning Class

This all-ages class has been credited by our competitive members for giving them the edge they need to succeed in competition and to develop their overall skills faster.

Fencers may attend this class independent of attending either weapon class if they are just looking for a good workout!

The schedules for the Tuesday Youth and Senior Epee classes overlap with this class intentionally.  Fencers in the youth epee class are expected to participate in the first half of this class (as the final part of their full class). Fencers in the senior epee class are expected (or at least strongly encouraged) to participate in at least part of this class (as the first part of their full class).

Prerequisites:

  • Willingness to work hard!
  • Riverside Fencing Club membership --OR-- USA Fencing membership and coach's invitation.

Class fee:

  • $10.00 per class
  • Fee waived for those concurrently enrolled in any of other scheduled class
Registration for this class (by itself) is not necessary. Please feel free to just show up!
